During the Living Library event we will meet the success stories of BSD volunteers Melinda Boldi, psycho-pedagogical professor (UBB Alumni) and Răducu Rușet, PhD student at UBB (History specialization). Melinda and Răducu will talk about visible and invisible disabilities in the context of their educational development and everyday life.
Melinda is a graduate of the Department of Special Pedagogy, class of 2010 (UBB) and of the Master’s Degree in Language Therapy and Educational Audiology (class of 2012), and is currently a teacher educator at the Special Secondary School Transilvania Baciu and a BSD volunteer. For Melinda, BSD means “…a quality community with people dear to my soul with whom I share common values and interests. BSD is also an example of civic responsibility, of the desire to do good things and to enjoy life together”.
Răducu is a graduate of the Faculty of History and Philosophy, History section (class of 2008) and of the Master’s Degree in History and Socio-Anthropology of the Modern Age, UBB (2013). Since 2013, he has been a doctoral student in the History Doctoral School. Civilization. Culture, and since 2014 he is a MINERVA fellow of the Romanian Academy, Cluj-Napoca Branch. Currently, Răducu is a BSD volunteer, actively participating in the Office’s actions and ensuring the schedule with the public.
The UBB Office for Students with Disabilities operates within the UBB Rectorate’s organizational chart, with the objectives of facilitating and supporting the inclusion of students with diverse learning needs in university life, as well as informing teachers and students about accessibility and disability. In this direction, BSD offers a series of educational events on accessibility (physical and social), some of them with the participation of foundations, associations and institutions (national and international) actively involved in ensuring a barrier-free life for people with disabilities.
Admission is free. We look forward to seeing
