World Rare Disease Day, February 28th – Be happy together

Posted on 24 February 2015 by Marian Padure

Where: Vasile Geleriu Hall (Babeș Sports Park, Cluj-Napoca – we recommend the entrance on Plopilor Street, opposite the tram station).

 When: 28 February 2015 (Saturday), between 14:00 – 16:00.

More details about the Global Genes project on World Rare Disease Day can be found here: http://globalgenes.org/world-rare-disease-day/

28 February is declared by Global Genes (http://globalgenes.org/world-rare-disease-day/) as World Rare Disease Day, a day to wear denim-blue denim jeans as a sign of awareness of the genes that each of us carries in our cells. World Rare Disease Day will be celebrated by members and friends of the UBB Office for Students with Disabilities through the Be active together sports programme (sitting volleyball, para-agility and dog dancing), which for 28 February will become Be happy together.

Participants: colleagues from the various associations and special schools who participated with BSD volunteers and UBB students in the preparation of the flashmob to raise awareness of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December 2014 are invited to join us. Para-agility activities and dog dancing elements will be coordinated by the Pet Joy Dog Training School team. This event is included in the Global Genes international events agenda dedicated to World Rare Disease Day. All participants will receive surprise tokens to raise awareness of this special day. Even if you are unable to attend this event, BSD supports the wearing of a denim-blue item of clothing or accessory in celebration of World Rare Disease Day.
