Where and when: Saturday, July 11, starting at 10:00, Iuliu Hațieganu Swimming Sports Complex, 7 Pandurilor Street, Cluj-Napoca.
The Cluj Community Foundation is organizing the Swimathon 2015 event on 11 July 2015 at the UBB Swimming Sports Complex, which involves swimming for local community causes. This year, the UBB Student Performance College (students and teachers, cspa.stud.ubbcluj.ro), in collaboration with the Transylvanian Students’ Sports Movement, will participate for the first time in the Swimathon to support the Student-for-Student, UBB for Community project.
The Student-for-Student project involves an intensive programme of participatory and interdisciplinary building of healthy life experiences for UBB students with disabilities (centres.ubbcluj.ro/bsd). Thus, at the beginning of the new academic year, CSPA student members will form ten teams with UBB students with special needs to achieve the following project objectives:
- Identify and know through direct communication (living experiences) the special needs of students with disabilities and identify optimal solutions to ensure these needs through student-to-student activities, by implementing the interdisciplinary model of co-design for wellbeing.
- To provide UBB’s high performing students (CSPA members) with a procedural knowledge set for interdisciplinary construction of student-for-student activities (services oriented to the student community).
- To provide students with disabilities with opportunities to communicate and collaborate with CSPA students through direct interaction with them.
The activities proposed in this project are the following:
- A day together through my faculty
- A day together through UBB
- 3-days Workshop on participatory building of healthy life experiences – with the participation of an international specialist and UBB students who participated in the Intensive Programme Co-constructing Healthy Experiences (Kortrijk, 2013 and Cardiff, 2014) – as a result of this workshop, interdisciplinary plans will be developed to address special needs of students with disabilities through student-to-student activities.
