Communicating with and about people with disabilities “Unity through Diversity“

Where and when: Gheorghe Roman Hall, “Iuliu Hațieganu” Sports Park, Cluj-Napoca, 3 December 2016, 16:00 – 18:00.

Participants: student volunteers of the Office for Students with Disabilities, students with and without disabilities, teachers, administrative staff, UBB alumni, collaborators, children with special needs and their parents.

On 3 December 2016, on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the first meeting of the 2016-2017 academic year of the Be active together programme, an inclusive programme organised by the Office for Students with Disabilities in collaboration with the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport (UBB), will take place.

Be active together is a programme of sports activities carried out by students (with and without disabilities, BSD volunteers), teachers and UBB alumni, together with people with disabilities, as well as UBB collaborators. The programme includes elements such as zumba, dances, fun games, sitting volleyball, para-agility (driving trained dogs through obstacles by people with motor difficulties), as well as training of UBB students for different performances and events for people with disabilities, aiming at disability awareness and active integration of students with special needs in the university environment.

Within this programme, organisations, institutions and specialists with concerns in the field of sport and improving the quality of life of people with disabilities participate: Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, UBB Pet Joy Dog Training School, Cluj-Napoca (www.petjoy.ro), Motivation Foundation (www.motivation.ro) and others. The programme is also open to UBB students during the session periods, who want to actively relax by participating in the sports activities of the programme.

Casual attire and gym shoes are recommended. We look forward to seeing you.
