The BBU Students with Disabilities Office operates within the BBU Rector’s Office, with the objectives of facilitating and supporting the inclusion of students with diverse learning needs in university life, as well as informing teachers and students about accessibility and disability. In this direction, OSD offers a series of educational events on accessibility (physical and social), some of them with the participation of foundations, associations, and institutions (national and international) actively involved in ensuring a barrier-free life for people with disabilities.

In this Social Series (the first in the Personalities with Disabilities series), the life of a personality with a disability will be discussed in an interdisciplinary way. On 21 January, at the OSD headquarters, the biographical film The Theory of Everything (2014) will be screened, starring the 73-year-old renowned physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking. At the age of 23, Stephen Hawking was diagnosed with motor neuron disease (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). The early diagnosis of his disease and the importance of social support in the dynamics of his professional achievements and daily life will be discussed.

We are waiting for you with tea, coffee and other goodies, at the OSD headquarters (Dorm III, ground floor, Hasdeu Student Complex).
